Customer service representatives at Health Services perform essential duties regarding patient scheduling based on presentation of symptoms and chief complaints. Also this position is responsible for collecting sensitive personal information to ensure quality of care, efficient patient flow, and proper billing for services provided. This position requires? a high level of teamwork?, strong ?attention to detail?, and is essential in creating a positive environment that enhances the patient's experience at Health Services. &&&&&b& Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Include but aren't limited to): &/b&&&&&&b& &&&/b&&&&ul&&ul&&li& Scheduling/updating Health Services appointments. &/li&&li& Answering phone calls, taking messages, routing calls to appropriate department and staff. &/li&&li& Check-In/Greeting patients in a manner that provides a positive customer service experience. &/li&&li& Check-Out patient appointments/Invoicing charges to appropriate payer and collecting monies due. &/li&&li& Entering essential data into Electronic Medical Record. &/li&&li& Assisting with insurance and billing related tasks. &/li&&li& Communicating with patients and staff. &/li&&li& Defusing upset or angry patients. &/li&&/ul&&/ul&&&&b& Minimum Qualifications: &/b&&&&&&b& &&&/b&&&&ul&&ul&&li& Some knowledge of interviewing methods. &/li&&li& Experience: interpreting, explaining, and applying regulations, laws or complex policies to carry out assignments; accessing data using a computerized system; independently handling complaints and upset individuals in a business setting; conducting sensitive fact-finding interviews. &/li&&/ul&&/ul&&&&b& Position Details: &/b&&&&&&b& &&&/b&&&&ul&&ul&&li& &b&Work Hours:&/b& Hours will average out to 19 or fewer hours per week on an ongoing basis through the 2018/2019 academic year (August through May). During the academic year, hours are likely to be 11am-3pm daily and as needed. &/li&&li& &b&Salary & Benefits:&/b& Benefits &b&are not&/b& included for this position.
