Job Summary

POWER Engineers is currently seeking a Project Engineer to join our Power Delivery Overhead Transmission Line Department in our Boise, Idaho office. This person will be part of a dynamic team that provides engineering services to our clients across the country and abroad. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading, supporting, and coordinating the following:

  • Project Support

  • Prioritize work and manage multiple projects under budget and time constraints

  • Manage and develop project estimates, schedules, bids, and engineering support

  • Evaluate design options, criteria, and routes for technical merit

  • Lead transmission design efforts with projects ranging from 34.5kV-500kV

  • Prepare and check design deliverables including plan and profiles drawings, material selection, and construction specifications

  • Preform quality reviews for both internal and subcontractor deliverables

  • Understand construction standards and requirements for high voltage line work

  • Coordinate with contractor and subcontractors to ensure client satisfaction

Required Education/Experience

  • Bachelor degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering

  • Experience with PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and PLS-Lite

  • Understanding of NESC, GO-95, ANSI, ASTM, ASCE, and IEC standards

  • Experience using the Microsoft Office software suite

  • The candidate must have strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel

Preferred Education/Experience

  • Five (5) or more years’ experience in transmission line design as outlined above

  • Liscensed Professional Engineer

  • Experience with AutoCAD/Microstation, MFAD, and Mircosoft Project is strongly preferred

  • Knowledge of transmission line routing, field program planning, project management, EPC projects, and line construction

  • Master’s degree in Engineering or Business
