POSITION PURPOSE: Under limited supervision contribute to the membership, customer service and financial goals of client by providing the public with health insurance through the direct sales of individual policies generated by direct marketing campaigns and unsolicited leads.

MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Required Experience: • Three years sales within the health care or health insurance industry Required

Certifications/Licenses: • State of Idaho disability and health insurance license

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of: • Sales techniques

Skills: • Verbal and written communication • Presentation • Persuasion • MS Word – Intermediate • MS Excel – Intermediate • MS Outlook – Basic • MS PowerPoint

Basic Ability to: • Achieve sales goals through prospecting potential members Achieve/Exceed monthly sales targets • Generate and manage leads • Travel, occasionally

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in business related discipline)

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. Achieve sales goals through various methods of prospecting potential members, including responding to direct marketing leads, follow-up from referrals, birthday letters and occasionally, seminar presentations.

  2. Maintain knowledge of all individual products in client portfolio.

  3. Document and track all sales leads and follow-up activity in the lead tracking system.

  4. Complete all applications and documentation required for internal processes in a timely and accurate manner to assure efficient enrollment of members.

  5. Comply with client's Code of Conduct and Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) regulations and marketing standards at all times.

  6. Assist in the promotion and participation in sales initiatives as well as community outreach related to the client promotion of health awareness.

Education (CE) credits. SECONDARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. Responsible for all aspects of the direct sales process including direct market prospecting, occasionally coordinate and schedule sales seminars, appointments, presentations and follow-up after sale to individuals.

  2. Monitor the products and practices of competitors and communicate pertinent information to management.

  3. Provide assistance to marketing specialists in development of member correspondence and information including, but not limited to; member handbook, education material, sales literature, renewal packets, and notice of program changes.

  4. Perform other duties as requested by the Manager.
